West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that can’t support Supreme Court judgement on SSC recruitment of 2016 and also can’t accept that Supreme Court nullified the job of around 26 thousand teachers.
“We are studying the verdict. We have the highest regard for the judiciary, but, as a citizen of the country, I have every right to say that I cannot accept this judgment,” Mamata said.
BJP and CPIM behind SC order: Mamata
Mamata Banerjee on Thursday attacked CPIM and BJP for the Supreme Court verdict and m said, “I believe this has done by CPIM and BJP.” She also said that, she has full faith on judiciary. However, she also said, “One Chief Justice of India (CJI) stayed (High Court verdict) and other Chief Justice canceled. Now you can understand what I want to say.”
Chief Minister also said, “We will appeal for review in the Supreme Court. On what point, it will be appealed that will be decided by our legal experts.”
The Chief Minister also alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to target the education system of the state, and that this was done by the saffron party and the Communist Party of India (Marxist).
“The BJP wants to target the education system of West Bengal. This all has been done by the BJP and the CPM,” she alleged.
Banerjee questioned the blanket dismissal of all candidates, asserting that not all appointees were guilty of wrongdoing. “The ones whom you call tainted, we don’t have proof regarding them. Does the BJP government want to collapse the education system of Bengal? What happened in Vyapam? Fifty plus people were killed,” she said, drawing a comparison to the recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh.
She also said, “If money recovered from in front of a house of a judge, he only transferred and when question cones to a teacher, then their jobs are cancelled!”
Mamata will join rally of teachers
She also claimed that, her government will give full support ti those lost their job. On April 7, there is a meeting of these teachers who lost their job after Supreme Court verdict and Chief Minister will present there. “I will go to hear them. I can only say don’t be impatient. We are with you and we will. We may be sent to jail for supporting you but don’t worry, I will welcome that. Catch me, if you can,” said Banerjee in a press conference at Nabanna on Thursday.
Referring to the Supreme Court’s directive, Banerjee noted that candidates who were not tainted could apply afresh. “Order states that candidates who are not tainted can appear for the fresh selection process. We will accept the judgement, and we will complete the process in three months. The SSC is an autonomous body, but we will ensure that it completes the reappointment process of teachers, our feelings will be conveyed to SSC bu Education minister,” she said.
