“RSS Strengthens National Unity, Congress Plays Divide and Rule”: Ramchander Rao

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a response to remarks made by Congress leader Priyank Kharge regarding the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party President, Ramchander Rao, emphasized the organization’s pivotal role in maintaining unity in India. While addressing the media in Hyderabad, Rao stated that the RSS is essential for national cohesion, accusing the Congress party of fostering divisions based on various issues, including caste.

He remarked, “Priyank Kharge should remember that it is the RSS because of which today India stands united.” Rao further contended that the BJP and the RSS share a common ideological foundation, asserting pride in their alignment.

Criticism of Congress’s National Responsibility

Rao urged critics of the RSS to acknowledge its contributions toward a unified country. He accused the Congress party of compromising the nation’s interests, contrasting its stance with that of the RSS. “Leaders like him should realize that without RSS, they can’t dream of this united India… the Congress only surrenders national interests,” he stated, clarifying the BJP’s support for the RSS’s mission in India.

Celebration of Indian Cricket Team’s Victory

In addition to political commentary, Rao congratulated the Indian cricket team for their recent win against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He praised their performance, highlighting a 61-run victory, and described India as one of the best cricket teams on the global stage.

Rao expressed optimism for continued success, stating, “I hope that the same spirit, the same talent, will continue, and it will bring more laurels to the country.” This victory followed a notable batting display by Ishan Kishan and a strong collective bowling effort that ensured India’s triumph over their rivals in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Congress’s Allegations Against the RSS

Earlier, Priyank Kharge, during a book launch in Bengaluru, raised concerns about the funding sources for the RSS and its allied organizations. He alleged that the RSS is linked to approximately 2,500 organizations, which reportedly collect funds from various countries, including the United States and England.

Kharge suggested that this points to a potential money laundering operation, questioning the accountability of the RSS concerning its financial practices. His comments included a controversial analogy regarding ‘Guru Dakshina,’ a term he associated with ambiguous financial contributions to the RSS.

Concerns Over Political Discourse and Religion

Furthering his critique, Kharge expressed discontent with how religious texts, such as the Ramayana, are interpreted for political objectives. He remarked on the discrepancies between the original texts and current interpretations, arguing that political figures are misusing religious discourse for personal agendas.

Commenting on the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Kharge highlighted a disconnect between the RSS’s public statements and personal accountability, suggesting that rhetoric surrounding family growth and child-rearing should be consistent with individual actions.
