Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to promote investment opportunities and strengthen both commercial and cultural ties with the state of Odisha. His departure took place on September 8, 2026, from Bhubaneswar Airport.

During this visit, the Chief Minister is set to engage with prominent investors, industrialists, and global companies. Additionally, he will connect with the Odia diaspora, fostering stronger ties within the community. CM Majhi expressed his vision for Odisha through a post on social media platform X, highlighting the state as a burgeoning destination for international investment.

He stated, “Odisha is emerging as a preferred destination for global investment. With a strong focus on EoDB, investor confidence, enabling policies, and faster project execution, we are creating an ecosystem where businesses can invest, grow, and thrive.” The Chief Minister aims to promote Odisha as the first choice for investors seeking stability and sustainable growth.

Engagements in Abu Dhabi and Dubai

The itinerary includes significant engagements in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, structured with high-level government meetings and one-on-one discussions with industry leaders. The Chief Minister’s first stop will be in Abu Dhabi, where he will connect with key institutions and investors.

In Abu Dhabi, CM Majhi’s schedule features a roundtable with the International Holding Company (IHC), signing of Memoranda of Cooperation (MoCs), and discussions with the UAE Minister of Investment and representatives from sovereign investment funds. These interactions are designed to lay the groundwork for future collaborations.

After Abu Dhabi, the Chief Minister will proceed to Dubai. Here, he will conduct individual meetings with potential investors and corporate leaders. A highlight of the Dubai portion of the visit will be the Odisha Investors Meet, scheduled for September 11, where he will engage further with the Odia community.

Showcasing Odisha’s Investment Potential

The Chief Minister’s outreach in the UAE aims to demonstrate Odisha’s readiness for investment by showcasing its industrial capabilities, emerging sectors, and growth opportunities. This visit is positioned as a platform to enhance trade, investment, and industrial partnerships between the state and the UAE.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, this initiative is part of a broader strategy to attract foreign investments and foster economic development in Odisha. The engagement with the UAE business community is expected to pave the way for new partnerships and collaborative ventures.

CM Majhi’s three-day visit will conclude on September 12, marking the end of this international investment roadshow. The efforts undertaken during this tour are anticipated to strengthen Odisha’s global presence and encourage ongoing investment in various sectors.
