In a significant development in a murder case from Rajasthan, police apprehended a woman and her alleged lover for the suspected killing of her husband. Reports indicate that a minor was also taken into custody in relation to this incident. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Bhajanlal, was a resident of Sri Ganganagar district and father to two children.

Investigation Uncovers Motive

Authorities revealed that Bhajanlal’s wife, Indraa Devi, was involved in an extramarital affair with Prabhu Dayal, aged 32, who was also from the same village. Investigators discovered that the two conspired to murder Bhajanlal, whom they viewed as an impediment to their relationship.

Murder Plan Execution

On January 16, Bhajanlal was reportedly intercepted by Dayal, along with a 15-year-old laborer working with him, while he was riding his motorbike outside their village. It is alleged that the two attacked him with sticks and subsequently strangled him with a rope, rendering him unconscious. Believing that they had killed him, they placed Bhajanlal on his own motorbike and transported him approximately 50 kilometers away.

Sequence of Events Post-Attack

According to police sources, upon reaching the designated location, Bhajanlal regained consciousness. In a shocking turn of events, Dayal and the juvenile are reported to have assaulted him again, this time using bricks. Following the attack, they disposed of his body and the motorcycle in a canal, as confirmed by Sri Ganganagar Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan.

Discovery of the Body

Due to the strong current of the canal, Bhajanlal’s body was discovered 270 kilometers away in Phalodi district several weeks later, specifically on January 2. Following the identification of the victim, a case was registered against unidentified individuals initially, as there were no immediate witnesses or overt suspects.

Investigation Progression

The case was classified as a blind murder during the initial investigation phase. As detectives delved deeper, they utilized technical analysis and local intelligence, which ultimately led them to recover Bhajanlal’s motorcycle. Further inquiries directed them towards the involvement of Indraa Devi and Prabhu Dayal, leading to their eventual arrests.
