Details of Sonia Gandhi’s Upcoming Memoir

Sonia Gandhi’s memoir, titled “Belonging: A Journey of Love”, is scheduled for release on November 10, as announced by publisher Alfred A. Knopf on August 20. While the memoir’s release date in India has yet to be confirmed by Penguin Random House India, it promises to be a significant literary event, highlighting her journey from post-war Italy to marrying into one of India’s most influential political families.

The memoir delves into her personal experiences, including the profound loss of her husband, the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and her subsequent entry into politics. In discussing the process of writing the memoir, Sonia described it as an emotional undertaking that required her to confront and share deeply held experiences. She indicated that opening her life story to the public was difficult but necessary, marking an important step in sharing her truth with the world.
