BJP leaders have accused Congress Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi of allegedly pushing a pregnant journalist identified as Richa Parashar during a protest related to alleged electoral irregularities. On the night of October 12, 2026, BJP MLA Umang Bajaj expressed his concerns after learning about the incident. Bajaj stated, “I strongly condemn the fact that a person who speaks of ‘smashing the patriarchy’ would behave this way toward a female journalist.”

Further accusations were put forth by other BJP leaders, with Rajesh Bhatia claiming that he received a report about the incident after a woman approached him seeking assistance. She allegedly informed him that Rahul Gandhi had pushed her pregnant sister, resulting in injuries that required medical attention. Bhatia highlighted the timing of the incident, noting that it occurred around 8:00 PM, shortly before the journalist was reported to have been injured.

Pradeep Bhandari joined the criticism by taking to social media platform X to share information related to Parashar’s condition. He indicated that she was three months pregnant and had sustained injuries due to the alleged assault while covering the protest. His post drew considerable attention, as he represented the incident as part of a broader narrative regarding Gandhi’s character, referring to him as a “goon.”

As of now, the allegations made by the BJP cannot be independently validated. The Congress party and Rahul Gandhi have yet to release a statement addressing these claims. The absence of an immediate response has left many questions surrounding the incident unanswered.
