Pune Woman, Accomplice Arrested for Allegedly Plotting Fiancé Ketan Agarwal’s Murder

The CSR Journal Magazine

The case regarding the tragic death of Ketan Vishal Agarwal has shifted focus from an accidental fall to an alleged murder conspiracy. Reports indicate that Ketan’s fiancé, Siya Goel, and her reported lover had premeditated the killing, even attempting to execute their plan days before successfully carrying it out. Ketan, a twenty-six-year-old businessman, fell into a gorge at Lohagad Fort, near Pune, on June 18. Initially, Siya informed the family and authorities that Ketan had slipped while trekking, but investigations suggest otherwise.

Ketan’s father alleged that, during interrogations, the accused admitted to a prior attempt on Ketan’s life on June 14, which did not succeed. He noted that their initial belief of an accidental slip evolved after examining Siya’s contradictory statements and suspicious behaviour.

After their arrest, both Siya and her accomplice purportedly confessed to conspiring against Ketan. They revealed that they had returned to the fort on June 18 to complete the plotted crime. Ketan’s father also contended that there might have been complicity from Siya’s family members, urging the authorities to ensure that all involved are held accountable.

Family’s Perspective on the Relationship

Relatives of Ketan have pointed to a troubled relationship between him and Siya, highlighting that despite this, she had frequently insisted on visiting Lohagad Fort together. Family members allege that Siya had taken Ketan to the fort on a few prior occasions, which adds to their suspicions regarding her intentions. Ketan’s uncle, Vijay Agarwal, has vocalised a desire for the harshest penalties for those implicated in the crime.

During a public appeal for justice, Vijay was visibly emotional, illustrating the profound impact of Ketan’s death on the family. The revelation of the alleged conspiracy has devastated them further, particularly in light of the wedding plans they had made for later this year.

As details unfolded, Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill confirmed that Ketan and Siya had visited the fort on June 18. Following the initial report of Ketan’s passing, police began to question the circumstances surrounding his fall as more inconsistencies emerged, leading to a deeper investigation.

Investigation Developments

Police investigations intensified after Siya visited Ketan’s home shortly after his funeral, leading to new lines of inquiry. During her visit, Ketan’s sister reportedly found some of Siya’s responses unusual, which raised doubt within the grieving family and prompted further examination of the situation.

Authorities discovered substantial communication records between Siya and Chetan Chaudhary, her accomplice. Data indicated that the two exchanged over two thousand calls from January to June, with discussions totalling 238 hours. Investigators found that on the day of the incident, Chetan’s internet access was unusually disabled for hours, suggesting deliberate avoidance of tracking.

Subsequent lines of investigation revealed that Chetan’s phone was left at his workplace to evade detection while he travelled with another phone. This digital footprint contributed to the establishment of his involvement in the supposed crime. Police have since registered a case of murder at Lonavala Rural Police Station, leading to the arrests of both individuals implicated in this complex case.

Tragic Turn Of Events

The events surrounding Ketan’s tragic demise have left his family shattered, particularly as they were in the midst of wedding preparations. The couple had a ceremony on February 11 and a formal engagement on February 19, with plans for a wedding set for November 25. Arrangements for a luxury venue in Jaipur had been made, and travel for guests was already organised.

In a cruel twist of fate, instead of preparing for a joyous celebration, Ketan’s family is now grappling with their loss. Ketan, who was the son of prominent builder Vishal Agarwal, had even planned special celebrations for Siya’s birthday on June 19, which highlights the abrupt end to what was supposed to be a bright future.

The family continues to seek answers and justice as authorities work diligently to reconstruct the events that transformed a supposed hiking accident into a severe crime case in Maharashtra, leaving a community in shock.
