Prime Video has officially announced that April 17 will be the premiere date for its highly anticipated original series, Matka King. This announcement was made in celebration of Vijay Varma’s birthday. The series is both created and written by Abhay Koranne and directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule. Set against the backdrop of 1960s Bombay, Matka King explores the fictional tale of an innovative cotton trader who develops a new gambling system known as ‘Matka’, transforming an elite pastime into a widespread trend.
