The Asian Para Games 2026 will commence with its opening ceremony in Nagoya, Japan, on Sunday, October 18. This event marks the beginning of a week-long celebration of athletic excellence among para athletes from across Asia. The ceremony will take place at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium, also referred to as Paloma Mizuho Stadium, and will feature various performances and the official declaration of the Games.

The Games will be held under the motto ‘Imagine One Heart’, symbolising unity and inclusivity among the participating nations. The opening ceremony is expected to attract a significant audience, showcasing the talents of para athletes and promoting awareness about disability sports.

India will be represented by para badminton athlete Pramod Bhagat and sprinter Simran Sharma, who will serve as the flag-bearers for the nation.
