PM Narendra Modi took a jibe at the INDIA bloc on Friday as he inaugurated a mega port project in Kerala with CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. Modi said, “Today’s event is going to disturb the sleep of many.”

“I want to tell the Chief Minister (Pinarayi Vijayan), you are a strong pillar of the INDI alliance, Shashi Tharoor is also sitting here,” Prime Minister Modi said, with a grin on his face, adding, “Today’s event is going to disturb the sleep of many.”

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on Thursday. The visit comes ahead of the commissioning of the Vizhinjam International Seaport.

Despite flight delays at the Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport Tharoor managed to reach his constituency on time. However, Tharoor did not leave the opportunity to take a swipe at Delhi’s operations. In a post on X, he described the Delhi airport as “dysfunctional”.

Tharoor wrote, “Despite delays at the dysfunctional Delhi airport, managed to land in Thiruvananthapuram in time to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his arrival in my constituency. Looking forward to his officially commissioning Vizhinjam port, a project I have been proud to have been involved with since its inception.”

Vizhinjam Port Commissioning Marks Major Milestone for Kerala

In a significant development, Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kerala is for the formal commissioning of the Vizhinjam port in Kerala. This marks as a strategic infrastructure project set to enhance India’s maritime trade.

Congress MP Tharoor, a four-time MP from Thiruvananthapuram also commented on this development. He said, he has been involved in the project since its inception. Tharoor also  expressed deep pride in the development of this project.

Flight Delays Blamed on Weather

Due to severe weather conditions, the Delhi Airport has been experiencing delays. This comes due to major shifting wind patterns and the closure of one runway for upgradation.

Shashi Tharoor referred to these disruptions in his post on X. He also shared the photographs of himself greeting PM Modi at the Thiruvananthapuram airport. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also seen in the photos along with the PM.

The political debate

Shashi Tharoor ha been making headlines from the congress party due to his approach towards the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party, BJP.  This comes following his raise for PM Modi which Sparked Political Buzz.

Tharoor’s gesture and past compliments for PM Modi have drawn attention from the Congress party. Previously, he praised the Modi government’s Vaccine Maitri initiative. Then he praised India’s stance during the Russia-Ukraine war, and Modi’s diplomatic outreach to the U.S. under President Trump.

No plans to switch

The differences with the Congress leadership and his ideology has not been hidden. Though, Tharoor has denied plans to switch parties. However, he hinted at having “options” if sidelined.
