In his speech, PM Modi discussed the significance of the Morung learning system, an age-old tradition where elders impart knowledge, history, and skills to the youth through personal stories and experiences. He noted that this system has evolved into a structured educational approach that stimulates children’s interest in subjects such as mathematics and science.

Role of Elders in Education

The Prime Minister pointed out that elders in the Nagaland community play a vital role in teaching life skills using stories, folk songs, and traditional games. He stated that this approach not only enriches the educational experience of children but also fosters a strong sense of cultural identity among them.

PM Modi encouraged citizens across the country to share similar initiatives occurring in their regions, thereby promoting a collective effort in preserving cultural heritage while advancing educational opportunities for children. He believes that such community-driven projects can significantly enhance the learning experiences of the younger generation.

Focus on Health and Wellness

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that his request regarding dietary changes positively impacted Dua’s father and urged the public to make similar adjustments. He also recommended a 10 percent reduction in cooking oil usage to help combat obesity and associated lifestyle diseases.
