A 24-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district allegedly ended his life in Saudi Arabia while talking to his newly married wife over a video call, police said on Wednesday.

Incident Takes Place Over Argument

Relatives said Aas Mohammad Ansari, who had been living in Riyadh for work, was found dead at his residence on October 26. The tragic incident reportedly occurred after a heated argument with his wife Sania (21) during the call.

Following the incident, Sania immediately contacted relatives staying in Saudi Arabia. They rushed to Ansari’s accommodation and discovered him dead, according to the family.

Ansari had married Sania on April 7 this year at Bhopa village in Muzaffarnagar, relatives said. About two and a half months ago, he travelled to Saudi Arabia in search of employment.

Efforts Underway To Bring Body Home

A family member, Amjad Ali, said, “Efforts are underway to bring the body back to Muzaffarnagar for burial.” He added that the process is being coordinated with Indian officials.

Family members confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh has been informed and that necessary documentation is being arranged to repatriate the mortal remains.

Police officials stated that they are looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident. “Police said they are probing the details of the matter, including the issue over which the couple had the argument.”
