Uttar Pradesh Teacher Murdered by School Manager Over Marriage Proposal Dispute

The CSR Journal Magazine

A school manager in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested for the alleged murder of a woman teacher who was reportedly pressuring him to marry her. The accused, identified as Vijay Nishad, was taken into custody by the Rudrapur police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) following an investigation into the crime. The victim, Rani Vishwakarma, 26, worked at V N Central Academy in Nai Bazar, Chauri Chaura, located in the Gorakhpur district.

According to police reports, Nishad was the manager of the same educational institution and had developed a close relationship with Vishwakarma. However, he was already married and had two children. Investigators revealed that Vishwakarma had been persistently urging him to marry her, which allegedly caused tensions between the two individuals.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Murder

As per Deoria Superintendent of Police Abhijeet R Shankar, the incident occurred on October 31, 2026. Vishwakarma arrived at the school around 8.30 am and once again brought up the topic of marriage with Nishad. The accused allegedly attempted to dissuade her from pursuing the matter, but this led to an argument between them.

At approximately 9.15 am, Nishad took Vishwakarma in his white Maruti WagonR to a secluded unpaved road near Meetha Bel village. Initial attempts to convince her failed, and he allegedly strangled her in the rear seat of the car. Following the act, he placed her body in the vehicle’s boot, covered it, and drove around with the body for the remainder of the day, waiting until nightfall to dispose of it.

Throughout the day, the accused reportedly drove towards Chauri Chaura. During this time, he allegedly destroyed evidence by breaking the victim’s mobile phone and discarding her ATM card between Bankat and Bairagi. At around 8.30 pm, he allegedly disposed of her body in bushes near Shri Net Global School in Rudrapur, Deoria, before fleeing the scene.

Investigation and Recovery of Evidence

Police received information regarding a woman’s body found in roadside bushes within the Rudrapur police station limits that evening. An immediate investigation was launched to establish the identity of the deceased. The victim was identified the following day as Rani Vishwakarma, daughter of Subhash Chandra Vishwakarma, a resident of Khuruhuri village in Gorakhpur district.

Following a complaint lodged by her family, authorities registered a case under Sections 103(1) and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Superintendent of Police Abhijeet R Shankar confirmed that the accused was apprehended and presented before the court for further legal proceedings.

During the investigation, police recovered the victim’s ATM card, cardholder, and mobile phone cover based on disclosures made by Nishad. A forensic examination of the accused’s WagonR was also conducted, with samples collected from the boot where the body had allegedly been stored for several hours. The SP indicated that the investigation had followed necessary technical and forensic protocols, expressing confidence in securing a conviction.

Additionally, the victim’s family has raised concerns about the potential involvement of other individuals in the case. While only one arrest has been made thus far, police are actively investigating this angle as part of their ongoing inquiry.
