A shocking incident from Bengaluru has sparked public outrage. A 38-year-old domestic worker, Shabina Banu, was brutally assaulted outside a mosque in Tavarekere village. The incident occurred in Bengaluru’s Channagiri taluk, on April 9, 2025.
However the attack which was meant to be a family dispute soon turned brutal. It reportedly occurred after a domestic dispute escalated into mob violence. The whole incident was recorded by the locals. The video was widely circulated on social media leading to widespread outrage.
Domestic Dispute Turns Violent
The alleged incident in question dates back to April 7. It all began when Shabina’s relative Nasreen (32) visited her at home. During the same time, a man named Fayaz also came to her residence. According to reports, the three of them went for a short outing to Bukkambudi hill. The group returned back to Shabina’s home later in the day.
However things took a drastic change as Shabina’s husband, Jameel Ahmed Shameer, came home and found them together. Jameel allegedly became enraged in anger and later approached the Jama Masjid in Tavarekere. He then filed an official complaint against his wife, her relative, and Fayaz.
Mob Assault Outside Mosque
Following Jameel’s complaint, the mosque committee summoned Shabina, Nasreen, and Fayaz on April 9. But as soon as Shabina arrived she was reportedly attacked by a group of men just outside the mosque premises.
The brutal assault on the woman was carried out using sticks, pipes, clubs, and even stones. The group of men beat Shabina with sticks and pipes violently while her husband Jameel was present on the scene. The whole incident was recorded on a mobile phone and circulated widely on social media, prompting mass outrage.
Following the assault, Shabina wasted no time in filing a complaint. According to the victim’s complaint, the mob attacked her with the intention to kill her. The disturbing visuals and videos circulating on social media led to immediate police intervention.
