Barker noted that despite the vague nature of Booth’s account, he approached the calls with seriousness. “David sounded perfectly sane and credible,” Barker remarked. He actively listened to Booth’s recounting of the visions but indicated that the lack of specific details hindered any potential action. “There was nothing we could do based on his dreams,” Barker stated.

The Flight 191 Catastrophe

On May 25, 1979, the dreadful scenario that Booth anticipated unfolded when American Airlines Flight 191, a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 en route from Chicago to Los Angeles, crashed shortly after taking off. The left engine detached from the aircraft, leading to a devastating loss of control. The plane, rolling uncontrollably, crashed into an open field less than a mile from the airport, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of all 271 individuals on board, along with two others on the ground.
