Madhya Pradesh Government Establishes 24×7 Control Room in Delhi for Gulf Residents

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced the establishment of a round-the-clock control room at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi to assist residents from the state currently residing in Gulf countries. This decision comes in light of the increasing tensions in West Asia. A formal notice issued by the state government outlines that the control room will be available for assistance to those affected by the ongoing situation.

Support for Various Categories of Residents

The control room is open to all Madhya Pradesh residents living in Gulf nations for various reasons including education, employment, business, and tourism. Those seeking support due to the current circumstances are encouraged to reach out to the control room for help. The state government aims to facilitate communication between residents and appropriate agencies, including the Government of India.

External Affairs Ministry Also Responds

Alongside this initiative, the Ministry of External Affairs has set up a Special Control Room to address the needs of Indian nationals in light of the evolving situation in West Asia and the Gulf region. The ministry has provided multiple helpline numbers for citizens requiring assistance during this time. A spokesperson for the ministry highlighted the importance of staying connected with respective embassies and keeping an eye on official updates for critical information.

Civil Aviation Ministry’s Preparations

In a related effort, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has launched a 24×7 Passenger Assistance Control Room to evaluate and ensure preparedness regarding airspace restrictions over Iran and other parts of the Middle East. This initiative was implemented following a series of military strikes involving Israel and the United States that targeted Iranian sites. The situation has become increasingly precarious with Iran responding through strikes in the region, reportedly aimed at U.S. military bases.

Impacts on Air Travel Routes

The geopolitical tensions have prompted temporary airspace closures in select areas of West Asia. Consequently, airlines across the globe are reconsidering their flight routes that typically traverse or operate close to the restricted zones. The ongoing developments highlight the complexities of international travel and the necessity for ongoing vigilance among travelers and authorities alike.
