Authorities have arrested Shamik Adhikary, a social media influencer who had been on the run following allegations of assault. Adhikary was apprehended in the Dum Dum area and is scheduled for a court appearance this Wednesday.

According to police, the investigation is moving forward with a recorded video statement from the 22-year-old victim. Law enforcement officials are also currently identifying and inspecting all sites associated with the incident.

Section 127(2): Wrongful confinement
Section 115(2): Voluntarily causing hurt
Section 351(2): Criminal intimidation

The complainant alleges that she was held against her will inside a residence in Behala for approximately 12 hours, spanning from the night of February 2 to the evening of February 3. She claims that during this period, Adhikary physically assaulted her, insulted her modesty, and issued threats stemming from a private disagreement.
