The CSR Journal Magazine

The administration of SN Medical College has suspended a junior resident doctor after a video emerged showing him allegedly verbally abusing a canteen operator at Mathuradas Mathur (MDM) Hospital, the largest medical facility in western Rajasthan.

Officials indicated that the incident took place late on a Sunday night within the canteen located on the hospital premises. The video depicts the doctor using foul language and exhibiting aggressive behavior towards the canteen staff.

Administrative Actions Taken Immediately

In response to the incident, the management of SN Medical College promptly suspended the junior resident doctor, identified as Vaibhav Siyag, and established an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the matter.

The institution has also requested an explanation from Dr. Siyag regarding his conduct. Dr. BS Jodha, the Principal of Dr. SN Medical College, remarked that the behavior displayed in the video was unacceptable and did not reflect the standards expected of a medical professional.

Details of the Incident

After the video came to light, the college administration verified the facts and confirmed that Dr. Vaibhav Siyag, who was working on a temporary contract at Kamla Nehru Chest Hospital under the medical college, was involved. Dr. Jodha stated that such behavior is intolerable, especially from someone affiliated with their institution. As a consequence, an inquiry committee was formed, and the doctor was suspended with immediate effect.

Allegations Concerning Tea Quality

Sources indicate that the incident, which occurred approximately two days prior to the video’s circulation, began as a dispute over the quality of tea served at the canteen. According to reports, the argument escalated after Dr. Siyag expressed his dissatisfaction with the tea, leading to a heated confrontation with the canteen operator. The footage shows him shouting and allegedly directing abusive remarks at the staff member involved.

Subsequent Developments

Following the initial confrontation at the canteen, another video reportedly surfaced in which Dr. Siyag is seen making derogatory comments about the police. The inquiry committee has been tasked with submitting a detailed report promptly, and further actions will be determined based on the committee’s findings and recommendations regarding the incident.
