India’s Got Latent Heads to Netflix, Samay Raina to Shoot Exclusive Special Episode

The CSR Journal Magazine

Comedian and content creator Samay Raina is set to bring India’s Got Latent to a wider audience, with the popular talent-comedy show returning next month and streaming on Netflix while continuing to release on his YouTube channel, India Today has learnt.

According to sources, the new season is already in production and filming has begun. The move is expected to help the show retain its strong digital-first audience while expanding its reach through a global streaming platform.

Netflix and YouTube to Share New Season

Sources said the upcoming season will follow a hybrid distribution model, with episodes being released on both Netflix and Samay Raina’s YouTube channel.

The strategy is aimed at preserving the show’s creator-driven identity while tapping into Netflix’s wider subscriber base.

India’s Got Latent has built a massive following online and has emerged as one of the country’s most popular digital entertainment properties.

Special Netflix-Only Episode Planned

Apart from the regular season, Samay Raina is also expected to shoot a special episode exclusively for Netflix, sources said.

Unlike the main episodes, which will be available on both platforms, the standalone instalment is being designed as a streamer-exclusive offering.

Details regarding the format, guest lineup and release date of the special episode have not been disclosed.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari to Promote ‘Alpha’

Sources further revealed that actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari will appear on the show to promote their upcoming film Alpha.

Their appearance is expected to be among the highlights of the new season, which is likely to feature celebrity guests alongside contestants and panellists.

The makers have not officially announced the complete guest lineup.

Show Became a Digital Phenomenon

Since its launch, India’s Got Latent has gained widespread popularity for its mix of talent performances, spontaneous humour and candid interactions between contestants and celebrity judges.

What began as a creator-led experiment eventually evolved into one of India’s most talked-about online shows.

The programme attracted millions of viewers and built a loyal audience through its unconventional format and unscripted moments.

Show Faced Controversy Earlier This Year

Earlier this year, the show came under scrutiny following remarks made during an episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia.

The controversy triggered legal challenges and led to the temporary removal of episodes from public platforms, raising questions over the future of the series.

The backlash had cast uncertainty over whether the show would return after the controversy.

Samay Raina Promised Comeback

Despite the challenges, Samay Raina had assured fans that India’s Got Latent would make a comeback.

The upcoming season marks the show’s return and represents a significant expansion through its association with Netflix.

With production already underway, the new season is expected to debut next month, bringing the show back to audiences after months of speculation.
