Indian Racing Festival Reveals 2026 Schedule With BIC Return and Navi Mumbai Street Race Finale

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Indian Racing Festival (IRF) has officially announced its complete schedule for the year 2026, showcasing an exciting calendar for motorsport enthusiasts. The season will feature the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida, which is set to host Rounds 4 and 5 on October 31 to November 1 and November 28 to 29 respectively. The season will culminate in a thrilling night race at the Navi Mumbai Street Circuit on December 5 to 6.

The BIC is particularly noteworthy as it marks the return of FIA-level racing after a hiatus of 13 years. This circuit has a prominent history, having previously hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix. The inclusion of BIC in the IRF calendar signifies a key moment for Indian motorsport, offering fans a taste of high-level single-seater racing.

The night race at Navi Mumbai Street Circuit is also highly anticipated. This urban setting promises to deliver an electrifying atmosphere, with the dedicated 3.69-kilometre track designed to enhance the racing experience for spectators in the city. This marks the Festival’s second foray into night racing, following its inaugural night event held in Chennai in 2024.

Significance of the Venues

Reddy noted the importance of both BIC and Navi Mumbai as strategic locations for promoting motorsport culture in India. Through these events, the Festival seeks to further establish the nation as a significant player in the global motorsport arena. The introduction of these new formats and venues indicates a commitment to growing the sport and engaging a wider audience.

Following the announcement, the IRF is poised to transition into the next phase of its 2026 season. With the F4 Indian Championship having already completed its first two rounds at the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, preparations are underway for the upcoming events in Chennai.

Upcoming Races and Competitions

The next phase of the racing season will take place at the Madras International Circuit (MIC) in Chennai on October 22 to 23. This round will also see the Indian Racing League make its 2026 season debut, bringing together both the IRF and the Indian Racing League for a highly competitive weekend.

In previous rounds, Aris Kyriakou has displayed consistent performance, securing multiple podium finishes and leading the standings. Following two rounds at Coimbatore, Kyriakou currently holds 93 points, closely followed by Luviwe Sambudla of Goa Aces JA Racing with 88 points. This competitive edge highlights the growing level of talent in Indian racing.

Through the integration of the F4 Indian Championship and the Indian Racing League, the IRF continues to provide a platform for emerging talent while offering established and aspiring drivers alike a stage to showcase their abilities. The ongoing commitment to gender-neutral racing further contributes to promoting inclusivity within the sport.

With live streaming on platforms such as JioHotstar and Star Sports, the IRF strives to enhance viewer engagement and broaden the fan base, bringing high-octane action closer to motorsport enthusiasts across the country.
