The CSR Journal Magazine

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has awarded Team India a total of USD 2.63 million, equivalent to approximately Rs 24.28 crore, for their triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India secured its victory against New Zealand by a margin of 96 runs in the final match held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This achievement marks a significant milestone as India became the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title successfully while competing on home ground.

Prize Money Distribution for Participating Teams

New Zealand, the runners-up in the tournament, are set to receive USD 1.42 million from the total prize pool of USD 11.25 million allocated for the event. In addition, the semi-finalists, South Africa and England, will each receive USD 1.05 million and USD 974 thousand, respectively. The allocations follow a record increase in ICC prize money, which was announced back in 2024.

BCCI Announces Additional Cash Reward

This amount signifies a notable increase from the Rs 125 crore that was awarded after India’s triumph in the 2024 T20 World Cup, reflecting an additional Rs 6 crore this time around.
