The CSR Journal Magazine

Hanuman Ansh has reached a significant milestone by crossing the Rs 150-crore mark in India on its 32nd day in theatres. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the spiritual drama recorded a nett collection of Rs 9.50 crore on its fifth Monday, bringing its gross total in India to Rs 155.65 crore and nett collection to Rs 131.63 crore, as reported by trade website Sacnilk. The film’s ongoing success indicates a strong potential for a continued theatrical run.

The film experienced a notable achievement just a day prior when it recorded its highest single-day collection since its release. On Day 31, Hanuman Ansh generated a nett total of Rs 22.75 crore, marking an unprecedented phase during its fifth weekend. Despite starting its run with modest figures, it has shown remarkable momentum as it progresses into its fifth week.

Significant Drop in Collections on Day 32

On Day 32, Hanuman Ansh encountered a 58.2 per cent decline in collections compared to the previous day’s earnings. The film still amassed Rs 9.50 crore nett across 7,343 shows, which is a strong performance for a title that has been in theatres for over a month. This decrease follows an impressive collection on Sunday, indicating an unusual trend where collections have accelerated during the latter stages of its theatrical journey.

The fifth week of Hanuman Ansh has been highlighted as historic, with its fifth weekend reportedly exceeding previous benchmarks established by the film Dhurandhar. This demonstrates the film’s sustained popularity as it continues to captivate audiences.

Remarkable Fifth Weekend Performance

The fifth weekend for Hanuman Ansh has yielded exceptional results, as the film not only achieved its largest weekend collection but also surpassed Dhurandhar over the three-day period. On Day 29, Hanuman Ansh earned Rs 10 crore nett, compared to Dhurandhar’s Rs 8.75 crore. This trend continued as Hanuman Ansh collected Rs 16.50 crore nett on Day 30, while Dhurandhar brought in Rs 11.75 crore.

The most significant differential emerged on Day 31, where Hanuman Ansh skyrocketed to Rs 22.75 crore nett, in contrast to Dhurandhar’s collection of Rs 12.75 crore for that day. The film has also outperformed its rival Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which earned Rs 3.25 crore on Day 29. Over the three days from Day 29 to Day 31, Hanuman Ansh accumulated Rs 49.25 crore nett while Dhurandhar netted Rs 33.25 crore, marking a historic fifth weekend.

Successful Journey from Modest Beginnings

The journey of Hanuman Ansh is particularly notable given its humble beginnings. Made with a reported budget of approximately Rs 2 crore, the film initially faced challenges in attracting audiences. However, positive word of mouth surrounding its spiritual theme helped the film grow its viewership over the weeks.

Rather than experiencing a strong opening, Hanuman Ansh has built its box-office numbers through consistent engagement with viewers. Its fourth and fifth weeks have been particularly robust, transforming what initially seemed like a small-scale release into a significant success story.

Looking ahead, the film’s domestic run is set to continue, with an international release scheduled for September 11. Hanuman Ansh has achieved a gross of over Rs 150 crore in India prior to its entry into international markets. The film, featuring Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role and chronicling the life of spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba, is anticipated to maintain its momentum even overseas.
