The CSR Journal Magazine

Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has unveiled a robust performance at the global box office, earning an estimated Rs 95.10 crore on its first day. Although the film approached the elusive Rs 100-crore mark, it ultimately fell short. According to reports, the film garnered Rs 66.75 crore nett in India across a total of 15,759 screenings.

The gross collection within India stood at Rs 80.10 crore, bolstered by an estimated Rs 15 crore from international markets, leading to a global gross of Rs 95.10 crore. The film observed an impressive overall occupancy rate of 67.08 per cent for its Hindi 2D screenings. Following a more subdued morning attendance, Drishyam 3 experienced a consistent increase in viewers throughout the day, culminating in particularly robust turnout during night screenings.

Night shows marked the highest occupancy rate at 76.46 per cent, thereby indicating an upswing in audience attendance as the day progressed. This trend points to a promising trajectory for the film in its initial stages.

Record Opening for Ajay Devgn

The film’s debut day signifies the highest opening for any Ajay Devgn-led project at the domestic box office, eclipsing his previous successful releases. For context, Singham Again achieved a Day 1 collection of Rs 43.70 crore, while Singham Returns and Golmaal Again earned Rs 32.09 crore and Rs 30.14 crore, respectively, on their opening days. Drishyam 3’s estimated nett collection of Rs 66.75 crore has significantly outpaced the initial figures of these earlier films.

Furthermore, this third instalment displays a remarkable increase compared to its earlier sequels. The original Drishyam, released in 2015, debuted at Rs 5.85 crore nett in India, while its sequel, Drishyam 2, accumulated Rs 15.38 crore nett on its opening day. Drishyam 3 has surpassed both of these numbers by a considerable margin, showcasing its strong reception.

To put this in perspective, the first film, Drishyam, ultimately earned around Rs 110 crore worldwide throughout its theatrical run, whereas Drishyam 2 concluded its journey with a global collection of approximately Rs 342 crore. This latest release is poised to potentially exceed these benchmarks.
