Gurugram Engineer Uncovers Wife’s Murder Plot with Lover, She Ordered Hammer to Kill Him

The CSR Journal Magazine

A Gurugram-based software engineer, Shubham Chaudhary, uncovered a chilling plot allegedly orchestrated by his wife and her lover to murder him. Suspicions arose when his wife began avoiding physical intimacy and exhibited unusual behavior. Upon checking her phone and online shopping history, Shubham discovered chat messages with another man and orders for condoms and a hammer, raising serious alarms.

Suspicion Arises from Changed Behaviour

Chaudhary, who married his wife, also a software professional working in Gurgaon, just seven months ago in February. He became suspicious when she started making excuses to avoid physical intimacy. His doubts intensified, prompting him to check her mobile phone. The discovery of social media chats with another man confirmed his wife’s infidelity.

A deeper dive into her online activity on platforms like Amazon revealed alarming purchases, a hammer and condoms. This discovery, coupled with chat evidence suggesting her lover had been stalking him for days. Following this, Chaudhary believed a murder conspiracy was being hatched, potentially mirroring the infamous Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi case.

Detective Agency Confirms Affair

Alarmed, Chaudhary contacted Tianju Investigative Service Private Limited to track his wife and her lover. Realising her husband’s suspicion, Chaudhary’s wife planned to leave Gurgaon with her boyfriend. On September 30, the couple drove to Rishikesh and checked into room number 202 of a hotel in Tapovan. The detective agency, in close pursuit, informed Chaudhary of their location.

Dramatic Hotel Confrontation

Armed with the information, Chaudhary first sought help from a local police outpost around 10:30 PM. However, he was denied immediate assistance due to the absence of a female constable. He then called the Dial 112 emergency line. In the early hours of October 1, around 4:00 AM, a police team led by Daroga Lakshmi Pant from Muni Ki Reti police station arrived. They opened the hotel room and found Chaudhary’s wife and her lover in a compromising position, leading to a major commotion.

Husband Ends Marriage, Declines Legal Action

During police questioning, the lover confessed to having stalked Chaudhary for several days. It was also revealed that the wife had a long-standing affair before her marriage to Chaudhary, who belongs to a different caste than her lover, a successful scrap businessman from Ghaziabad. Despite her family’s knowledge of the affair, she was allegedly pressured into marrying Chaudhary.

No Complaint Registered

Following the dramatic arrest, Chaudhary maintained a calm demeanor. He informed his wife that their relationship was over and that she was free to do as she pleased. The wife, asserting she was an adult and at the hotel of her own free will, left with her lover. Chaudhary, though ending the marriage, refused to file a formal complaint (Tahrir) against his wife or her lover.

Police confirmed that since both were adults and no complaint was registered, no legal action was taken, treating the incident as a private, resolved domestic dispute. The police noted, however, that the motive behind the online purchase of the hammer remains unclear and potentially warrants further investigation.
