Faridabad Horror: Father Jumps Before Running Train Holding His 4 Sons, All Dead

A shocking incident unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in Haryana’s Faridabad district. Here, a 45-year-old man, identified as Manoj Mahato, allegedly died by suicide. Manoj jumped in front of the Golden Temple Express train.

However, what shocked the nation is that Mahato did not die alone. He jumped before the running train along with his four young sons in Faridabad. According to reports, all five died on the spot.

Who was Manoj Mahato?

The deceased, Manoj Mahato was a native of Tartara village in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district. Manoj had been residing with his family in Subhash Colony, Ballabhgarh. Manoj lived with his Wife and four young sons. His four sons, aged between 3 and 10 years.

Pawan Mahato – 10-years-old
Karu Mahato – 9-years-old
Murli Mahato – 5-years-old
Chotu Mahato – 3-years-old

What happened?

Reports suggest that the tragic incident occurred around 12:55 PM near the Elson Chowk railway flyover. The bodies were found approximately a kilometer before Ballabgarh station. The loco pilot of the Golden Temple Mail (12903), en route from Mumbai to Amritsar, alerted the local authorities after witnessing the horrific site.

Initial investigations by the Government Railway Police (GRP) suggest domestic discord as a potential motive behind the suicide. According to reports, Manoj Mahato had a heated argument with his wife, Priya, on Tuesday morning. Police sources indicate that Mahato had suspicions about his wife’s fidelity. He allegedly believed that his wife was cheating on him with another man.

Taking children to Park, Mahato told wife

After a heated argument between Mahato and his wife he got very frustrated. Following the argument, Mahato reportedly told his wife he was taking their children to a park. However, instead of going to the park, he bought them cold drinks and chips. He then led them to the nearby railway tracks.

The eyewitnesses and police reports suggest the horrific sight of the incident. As the train approached, the children started screaming, and attempted to flee. However, Mahato held them tightly in his arms, preventing their escape. The train collision dismembered their bodies, scattering them along the tracks.

Note found with wife’s number

Following the incident the local authorities immediately arrived on the scene. Upon inspection the GRP police found a note in Mahato’s pocket along with his Aadhaar card. The note in Manoj’s pocket contained his wife’s mobile number. In front of the mobile number was written – wife’s number. The police used the information to inform the family about the tragedy.

GRP Station SHO Rajpal stated that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, which will be conducted after the arrival of Mahato’s relatives. “Mahato suspected that his wife was unfaithful, which could be the reason behind the extreme step,” SHO Rajpal said.

GRP DSP Rajesh Chechi said, “In the preliminary investigation, the reason for suicide is suspected to be an extramarital affair of deceased’s wife. The deceased’s brother, sister and relatives have been informed about the incident. The postmortem of the bodies will be conducted only after the relatives arrive”.
