Delhi Police Dismantles International Arms Trafficking Network, Arrests 10 Individuals

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully dismantled a global arms trafficking network operating primarily from Old Delhi. This significant operation represents a crucial development in enhancing national security. A total of ten individuals associated with the criminal organization have been apprehended, highlighting the seriousness of the illicit activities involved.

Seizures Include Advanced Weaponry

During the investigation, authorities seized 21 sophisticated foreign-made firearms along with 200 live cartridges. The range of confiscated weapons showcases an impressive array of international firearms, which includes a specialized submachine gun, a Shadow CZ from the Czech Republic, Stoeger pistols from Turkey, Berettas from Italy, Brazilian Taurus models, and German Walther handguns. Notably, two high-end pistols, the Chinese-made PX-3 and PX-5.7, which are typically utilized by special forces, were also recovered by security officials.

Cross-Border Links and Smuggling Tactics

Investigations have revealed that the trafficking syndicate employed the Indo-Nepal border as a major transit route for smuggling weapons from Pakistan into India. This method was strategically chosen to bypass stringent surveillance measures in the region. Once the arms entered Indian territory, they were methodically distributed to various active criminal gangs throughout Delhi-NCR and beyond.

Increased Alert Among Security Agencies

The discovery of such advanced weaponry in the possession of an organized criminal group has raised significant concerns among intelligence agencies. The potential implications of these cross-border supply chains are being closely monitored, as authorities work to understand and address the broader security challenges posed by these networks.
