Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato, has revealed plans for the upcoming launch of a novel wearable device named Temple in India. Unlike conventional wearables such as smartwatches or fitness bands, Temple is designed to be a small device that attaches to the side of the head, especially between the forehead and the ear. This location is significant, as it allows the device to access various physiological signals.

The device, which has been under experimental development, aims to serve as a high-performance tracker tailored for athletes. By monitoring both brain and body activity, Temple seeks to enhance the understanding of physical performance and recovery processes. Notably, prominent athletes like PV Sindhu have already been spotted testing the device.

Goyal debuted the device while appearing on Raj Shamani’s Figuring Out podcast earlier this year. He showcased what appeared to be a sleek metallic clip located at the temple, capturing public interest. Recently, Goyal announced that Temple will soon be available for a limited launch in India.

According to Goyal, Entropy fluctuates based on various factors, including sleep, stress, and physical exertion, making it a crucial indicator of overall metabolic health.

The production of Temple has progressed to the point where early-access testing has already occurred, with the first 100 devices prepared for initial users. Goyal has announced that the company will soon begin taking pre-orders for a Limited Launch Edition, with shipping anticipated before the conclusion of 2026. However, the exact dimensions and weight of this new iteration have yet to be confirmed.

Speculation regarding the price has surfaced, with earlier estimates suggesting approximately Rs 72,000. However, Goyal later proposed that Temple could be priced closer to $1,000, equating to around Rs 1 lakh. Nonetheless, final pricing remains undisclosed as the launch date approaches.
