Temple, a health-tech startup established by Deepinder Goyal, who is also the founder of Zomato, has completed the acquisition of Longevous, a London-based longevity medicine practice. This strategic move is part of Temple’s preparation to introduce its wearable health device in India later this year. Goyal made the announcement on social media platform X, highlighting the expertise of Longevous’s founders, Dr Robert Mohr and Dr Avi Roy, who will be joining Temple’s team.

In his post, Goyal expressed enthusiasm over the acquisition, describing Longevous as an evidence-based longevity medicine practice. He confirmed that both founders will be transitioning to full-time roles within Temple, with Dr Mohr appointed as the chief medical officer and Dr Roy as the head of science.

Following the acquisition, Longevous will continue its operations under the Temple umbrella, ensuring that the existing client base remains a priority for both doctors. The move appears predominantly aimed at enhancing Temple’s capabilities in clinical and scientific research, which is critical as the company works to validate its wearable technology.

Role of Longevous Co-Founders in Temple

The inclusion of Dr Mohr and Dr Roy is expected to significantly bolster Temple’s validation process for its wearable device. Longevous focuses on preventive and evidence-based healthcare, and the expertise of its founders in clinical and biomedical research is deemed valuable. Goyal noted that their experience will complement Temple’s existing science team, assisting in the preparation for the product’s launch.

Goyal shared that his initial meeting with the Longevous founders occurred at a dinner in London several months ago, where mutual interest in the Temple device sparked a collaboration. After spending about two months extensively using the device and analysing its data, Dr Mohr and Dr Roy engaged with Temple’s science team, providing critical feedback on the company’s methodologies and assumptions.

Their involvement has gradually increased, culminating in their decision to join Temple full-time. Dr Mohr’s nearly two decades of clinical experience will see him integrate preventive and precision healthcare practices into Temple’s research and validation initiatives.

Upcoming Launch Plans for Temple’s Wearable Device

Temple is moving closer to a broader market launch of its wearable device, with plans for pre-orders for a Limited Launch Edition set to be announced soon. Goyal has indicated that the first shipments of the wearable are expected to occur before the end of 2026. The device has undergone significant modifications since its initial presentation, with updates suggesting it is now less than half the size of previous models; however, specific dimensions and weights have yet to be disclosed.

The company has already conducted early-access testing, with the first 100 devices allocated to selected users including athletes, doctors, and scientists. This collaborative effort aims to refine the product further, while Temple continues to work closely with manufacturing partners in anticipation of the wide-scale launch.

While a precise launch date and pricing remain unconfirmed, Temple is gearing up for the forthcoming release. Goyal reiterated that pre-orders will open shortly, and shipments are on track to commence before the end of 2026, marking a significant milestone for the company in the health-tech sector.
