Court Denies Anticipatory Bail to HR Manager Nida Khan in Nashik TCS Conversion Racket Case

The CSR Journal Magazine

A Nashik Road court has denied the anticipatory bail application of Nida Khan, who is facing serious accusations related to religious sentiments and attempted forced religious conversion at a TCS office situated in Nashik. The application was rejected on Saturday following a hearing that took place in camera on April 29, 2026. The case brought forth significant legal arguments regarding the nature of the allegations against Khan.

During the proceedings, Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Mishra represented the state, while defence advocate Rahul Kasliwal appeared on behalf of Khan. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sandeep Mitke, part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), also presented the prosecution’s argument against the grant of bail. The case has drawn considerable attention due to its sensitive nature.

Allegations Against the Accused

The allegations against Nida Khan reportedly involve her influence over a victim from a backward class, introducing her to specific religious practices. According to the prosecution, Khan allegedly guided the victim in the adoption of a hijab, encouraged various religious observances, and facilitated the downloading of mobile applications related to religious content. The state claims that Khan had also shared links connected to such content with the victim.

In further claims, it has been alleged that Khan changed the victim’s name and that significant documents related to the case are in possession of another accused, identified as Danish. The investigation has led to the seizure of multiple books and materials that are believed to be linked to the case, which will be used as evidence as the inquiry progresses.

Digital evidence is also being scrutinised, including mobile app messages and statements made by the victim and her family members. Authorities are investigating potential connections to Malegaon and links to Malaysia, where the possibility of job offers or promotions being used as inducements is being examined. This aspect has raised further concerns regarding the depth of the alleged conversions.

Prosecution’s Input and Court Decision

The prosecution has emphasized the seriousness of the allegations, stating that further investigation is essential. It argues that the nature of the accusations entails the need for a thorough examination of Khan’s actions, particularly regarding potential influence and intimidation of the victim. The investigation continues to gather both evidence and testimonies to support its case against the accused.

After reviewing arguments presented by both sides, the court reserved its order last month. The ruling delivered today effectively denies anticipatory bail to Nida Khan, representing a notable moment in the ongoing inquiry. The legal proceedings have only heightened interest in the case and its implications.

The decision not to grant bail shows the court’s stance on the seriousness of the charges faced by Khan, while the investigation is designed to ensure that all relevant evidence is thoroughly evaluated. The implications of this case may extend beyond immediate legal concerns, potentially impacting wider discussions surrounding religious practices in various contexts.
