DCM Shriram Foundation, a philanthropic arm of DCM Shriram Ltd, has further strengthened its commitment to enhancing mother and child health outcomes in rural communities by expanding its flagship, Khushali Sehat program in the Jhagadia block of Bharuch district. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between DCM Shriram Foundation, the Health Department, and ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) in the presence of Shri Yogesh Kapase, IAS, District Development Officer (DDO), Bharuch; Dr. J S Dulera, Chief District Health Officer (CDHO), Bharuch; Mr B.M. Patel, President and COO-Chemicals, DCM Shriram Ltd.; Ms. Dipika and Ms. Hemangi, Program Coordinators, ICDS, Bharuch.
Further emphasizing DCM Shriram’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development. The Khushali Sehat program focuses on enhancing the knowledge and skills of Front Line Workers (FLWs) including Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), with the goal of reducing infant and maternal mortality rates. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Health Mission (NHM), focusing on key areas of maternal and child health.
The expansion will cover the entire Jhagadia block of Bharuch District, providing crucial training and mentoring support to 214 Anganwadi Workers, 51 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, and 181 ASHA workers. By equipping them with the right tools and knowledge, the program seeks to establish a more robust healthcare system at the grassroots level, ensuring better health outcomes for mother and child in the area. CHETNA, the implementation partner, will lead the on-ground execution of training and mentoring efforts for front line workers.
This initiative is part of DCM Shriram Foundation’s broader efforts to uplift rural communities through focused interventions in healthcare, sanitation. education, skilling and livelihood development.
