CM Yogi in Ghaziabad: Technology is Not a Job Killer; UP Aims for ₹36 Lakh Crore Economy

The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing a public program in Ghaziabad themed “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Uttar Pradesh”, highlighted the state’s transformation journey from a “BIMARU” tag to becoming the country’s second-largest economy. He called on the youth to embrace emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools to shape a progressive future.

During the event, CM Yogi released a book titled ‘Bharatvarsh ki Swarnabha Narendra Modi’, authored by former MP Ramesh Chandra Tomar. He praised the book as an “inspiring record” of the Prime Minister’s contributions to nation-building and recommended its inclusion in university and public libraries to inspire students.

“Technology is not a Job Killer”

The Chief Minister emphasized that technology is not a job killer but a job enabler. Drawing parallels with the arrival of computers in India, he said AI will create new opportunities in sectors like agriculture, education, and healthcare. “If farmers embrace new technology, they can potentially triple their productivity,” he added.

Reflecting on UP’s economic rise, CM Yogi noted that the state’s GDP grew from ₹12.75 lakh crore in 2016–17 to a projected ₹36 lakh crore by 2025–26. He credited this transformation to improved law and order, investment in infrastructure, and proactive governance.

CM Yogi also dismissed the myths that earlier discouraged CMs from visiting places like Noida, Bijnor, and Agra, citing superstition and fear. “I stayed overnight in Bijnor, visited the ‘haunted’ circuit house in Agra, and went to Noida, and the people still re-elected me,” he said. He asserted that Ghaziabad is now known for education and industry, not crime or filth.

The Samarth UP Portal

He urged youth, women, farmers, and entrepreneurs to actively participate in the ‘Samarth UP Portal’, inviting innovative suggestions for the state’s development. The top three suggestions from each district will be awarded locally, while the top five state-wide will receive state-level recognition.

Concluding his speech, CM Yogi reiterated the ‘Panch Pran’ vision of Prime Minister Modi, urging citizens to shed the “colonial mindset” and take pride in India’s heritage. “UP’s youth once hesitated to reveal their roots; now they proudly say, ‘We are from UP,’” he stated confidently.

The event was attended by several state ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local leaders, along with a large gathering of students and intellectuals.
