CM Yogi Asserts Uttar Pradesh’s Central Role in Making India a Developed Nation by 2047

The CSR Journal Magazine

Wrapping up the marathon over 24-hour debate on Vision 2047 in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that India can become a developed nation only when every state meets its responsibility, adding that UP will be at the forefront of this mission.

Strength of democracy

Thanking the 187 MLAs from both the ruling party and the opposition, the Chief Minister lauded their serious and engaging participation, calling the marathon discussion a testament to the strength of democracy and the dedication of its members.

Highlighting the state’s unique position, CM Yogi said, “Uttar Pradesh is not just the most populous state in India; it is the torchbearer of the nation’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the epicentre of India’s spiritual and cultural energy.” Recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s words at the 2023 Global Investors Summit, he said, “If India is the world’s bright spot, Uttar Pradesh will be the driving force of its growth.”

Sector-wise discussions

The Chief Minister said that while many members wished to speak, time and resource constraints required prioritisation. Going forward, the government will prepare a comprehensive strategy by engaging all sections of society, holding detailed consultations, and returning to the House for sector-wise discussions. He stressed that such constructive debates dispel doubts about the legislature’s conduct, proving that whenever the state or nation calls, all members rise to the occasion.

Calling this period, with India completing 78 years of independence and entering its Amrit Kaal, an opportunity for self-reflection, CM Yogi shared that he joined the debate at several points and witnessed the deep commitment of members from all parties. Some even stayed awake through the night to contribute, drawing nationwide attention to the proceedings.

Road to Viksit Bharat

On the road to Viksit Bharat, he asked two pointed questions: “Shouldn’t Uttar Pradesh’s per capita income rise? Shouldn’t it share in the nation’s prosperity?” The debate, he said, was split into two phases, reviewing 1947–2017 achievements and charting the path from 2017 to 2047.

This centennial moment is the right time to weigh gains and losses, and under the Prime Minister’s vision document, Uttar Pradesh is leading the way in turning that vision into action.
