A conservative activist and close aide of US President Donald Trump was brutally shot dead in broad daylight at a college event in Utah. A picture of the assassin has been released; he is a young man who was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses. A reward of $100,000 has been announced for the identification and arrest of the accused.
FBI has over 7,000 leads
During a media interaction on Friday morning, the Utah Governor has confirmed that the FBI has over 7,000 leads and the investigation is on. A new video has been released of the suspected shooter. He is seen in the video running across the roof the moment a single bullet struck the conservative activist’s neck and then leaped over the edge and disappeared in the woods.
In an official statement released by the FBI, “Around 12 p.m. Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away. He left a gun and ammunition in a wooded area near the university.” The statement further disclosed, “Trace evidence collected from the rooftop scene included shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print. Tremendous misinformation
Talking about the misinformation spreading online, Utah Governor, while addressing the media, shared that a “tremendous” amount of disinformation is circulating online. He urged everyone to stop spreading false information any further.
“I think Charlie said it best, that when things get bad, we should put our phones down and spend time with our families. Our adversaries want violence,” he said. He even claimed that Russia and China are both fueling the misinformation. Talking about the progress of the case, he said 200 interviews have been done.
