BJP to Convene Core Group Meeting in New Delhi to Discuss West Bengal Elections

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a critical core group meeting focusing on West Bengal in New Delhi tomorrow. Scheduled for 3 PM in Parliament, the discussions will center around the party’s strategies for the forthcoming West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections, according to party insiders. The meeting will see the participation of various prominent leaders, including BJP President Nitin Nabin and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Discussion on Candidate Selection and Political Strategies

Among the attendees will be key figures like West Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya, Union Minister and MP Sukanta Majumdar, MP Biplab Kumar Deb, and Sunil Bansal, the BJP’s national general secretary (organization).

Bhupender Yadav, the election in-charge for Bengal, is also anticipated to contribute to the discussions during the meeting. The leadership is expected to deliberate on potential candidates for the assembly elections, assess the current political landscape, and explore methods for organizational fortification and election strategies.

Focus on Constituent Feedback and Campaign Plans

In addition to candidate discussions, the meeting will likely involve an examination of feedback from local constituencies, outlining the party’s campaign methodologies, and reinforcing its position in West Bengal as the assembly polls approach. Senior leaders are expected to evaluate the readiness of the state unit and define a clear roadmap for the party’s election campaign.

Previous Campaigns and Upcoming Initiatives

This meeting follows the BJP’s recent Parivartan Yatra, a state-wide campaign aimed at garnering support in advance of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. The campaign is extensive, reportedly covering over 5,000 km and featuring 63 major rallies alongside 282 smaller gatherings. The event will culminate in a significant rally at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a key speaker.

Emphasis on Key Issues Affecting the State

On March 2, several senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, are scheduled to address various gatherings across the state. Amit Shah will speak in South 24 Paraganas, while former Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address audiences in Howrah-Hooghly, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will engage with constituents in Burdwan. The BJP aims to spotlight critical issues such as corruption, women’s safety, illegal infiltration, and state governance failures while also emphasizing development, job creation, and improvements in urban-rural infrastructure.

Strategic Outreach Goals for the Election Campaign

According to party sources, the campaign aims to directly reach over one crore citizens, reinforcing engagement at the booth level and expanding organizational outreach. This comprehensive approach outlines the party’s commitment to addressing local concerns and enhancing its visibility in West Bengal ahead of the elections.
