Bihar Man Accuses Wife of Abandoning Family After Securing Government Job

The CSR Journal Magazine

A man from Hajipur has levelled accusations against his wife, who recently became a government teacher, claiming she left him and their ten-year-old son. Aman Kumar stated that his spouse, Gunjan Kumari, abandoned the family after obtaining a teaching position following years of educational support from him.

Aman alleges that he sold 1.5 kattha of ancestral land in 2022 to finance Gunjan’s educational journey, which included completing her graduation and a B.Ed. He supported her efforts despite facing financial hardships, as she initially only had an intermediate qualification when they married in 2013.

According to Aman, the couple’s relationship deteriorated after Gunjan secured a teaching job for Classes 6 to 8 during the TRE-02 recruitment process. Following her training in Supaul district, she was assigned to a school in Bidupur block. Reports suggest that during this training period, Gunjan became close to a fellow trainee, Prem Prakash Jaywal, which sparked Aman’s suspicions regarding her fidelity.

Claims of Deception During a Trip

In January 2025, Gunjan allegedly sent their son, Aarush Arya, back to Aman under the guise of going on a trip to Darjeeling with colleagues. Upon later learning that no such trip was undertaken by her fellow teachers, Aman felt his concerns regarding her behaviour were validated.

Aman stated that Gunjan had been living separately for almost one year. He further claimed that she has lodged false complaints against him, complicating the matter. On May 23, he reportedly went to her rented home in Lichchavi Nagar, Hajipur, where he claims to have found Gunjan and Prem Prakash in what he described as an inappropriate situation.

Subsequent to this incident, Aman contacted police emergency services by dialling 112. He has since sought assistance in addressing the unfolding situation concerning their family and the alleged relationships.

Concerns Raised by Their Child

The couple’s son, Aarush, has reportedly expressed distress over the situation, claiming his mother pressured him to refer to Prem Prakash as “uncle.” This raises further concerns regarding the emotional wellbeing of the child amidst the ongoing disputes between the parents.

As the situation continues to develop, the police have not yet released a formal statement addressing the allegations made by Aman regarding Gunjan’s actions and the nature of her relationship with Prem Prakash.

This case has garnered attention, highlighting the complexities within familial relationships exacerbated by external factors such as employment and personal dynamics. The evolving situation is likely to have significant implications for all parties involved, particularly the young boy caught in the centre of these allegations.
