The Bharat 2.0 Conclave: Shakti Edition took place at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai on September 15, 2026. This event was the third iteration of the Bharat 2.0 Conclave series, organised by Business Viewpoint Magazine and The Enterprise World. It assembled more than 200 leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers to emphasise the significance of women’s leadership within the broader context of India’s growth narrative.

The proceedings commenced with an interactive activity titled “Stand Up If…” which encouraged participants to engage actively. This was followed by the Shakti Pledge, promoting unity and empowerment, along with a tricolour flag-waving ceremony that symbolised national pride. Notable addresses included the opening keynote by Dhruv Apte, focusing on storytelling and leadership, and a subsequent keynote by Rashoo Sachdeva, which delved into themes of identity and leadership.

A leadership dialogue ensued, featuring a panel of experts including Roopa Lobo, Dr. Mandeep Maitra, Dr. (Hon.) Ridhima Dua, Rishita Malhotra, and Swati Satapathy, facilitated by Dhruv Apte. They discussed the transition from organisational leadership to entrepreneurship, exploring various challenges and successes encountered along the way.

Dr. Kiran Bedi’s Contribution and Insights

A highlight of the conclave was the attendance and recognition of Dr. Kiran Bedi, who engaged in a thoughtful discussion moderated by Dr. Ankita Singh, the Founder of the HR Association of India. This conversation highlighted Dr. Bedi’s personal leadership journey, sharing her experiences, decisions, and the valuable lessons learned over her career.

The dialogue further elaborated on the concept of ‘Shakti’ as interpreted through Dr. Bedi’s personal experiences in leadership. She emphasised how women’s leadership is integral to the nation’s future and called for continued support and recognition of women’s contributions across various sectors.

The conclave’s atmosphere fostered a strong sense of community and shared purpose among participants. Noteworthy comments came from attendees, including Deepika Pillai, Vice President of TELUS Digital, who remarked that the theme of Shakti served as a significant attraction, highlighting the importance of platforms recognising women’s roles in the industry.

Awards and Recognition

During the event, the Leadership Excellence Awards celebrated the achievements of 69 distinguished women leaders across a variety of sectors, including technology, healthcare, education, FinTech, and social impact. This recognition aimed to honour the contributions of women making significant advancements in their respective fields.

Some of the notable awardees included Ar. Bhagyashri Varma, Swati Thakur, Dr. Snehal Pinto, and Col. Madhumita Dhall, among others. Their accomplishments not only exemplify individual excellence but also demonstrate the collective progress made by women in the realm of leadership and entrepreneurship.

The Shakti Edition strategically framed women’s leadership within the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, articulating a roadmap towards enhanced participation and leadership roles for women in the years to come. This initiative aims to inspire future generations and create a sustainable environment where women’s contributions are recognised and celebrated.
