Bengaluru Couple Travel to Goa for Marriage, Boyfriend Slits her Throat

A marriage trip ended in tragedy in Goa. This comes after a Bengaluru man was accused of Killing his Girlfriend during a trip to Goa. South Goa Police have arrested a 22-year-old Bengaluru man in connection with the case. The accused Sanjay has been arrested for the brutal murder of his girlfriend.

The body of the woman was discovered with her throat slit in a forested area of Pratap Nagar. The couple had reportedly traveled to Goa from Bengaluru with the intention of getting married. However, their plans tragically unraveled due to a dispute.

Accused Boyfriend arrested

The arrested suspect has been identified as Sanjay Kevin M, a resident of North Bengaluru, Karnataka. The victim, Roshni Moses M, also 22, hailed from the same locality and worked at a school in Karnataka, while Kevin was unemployed.

According to police, Sanjay and Roshni arrived in Goa recently, ostensibly to solemnize their marriage. However, a severe disagreement erupted between them. “They came to Goa from Bengaluru to get married. But due to some unknown reason, there was a dispute between the two and two days ago Sanjay killed Roshni and threw the body in the forest,” stated police officials.

Body of the victim discovered

Roshni’s body was discovered on Monday evening by a local farmer searching for sprouted cashew nuts, who immediately alerted authorities. South Goa Superintendent of Police (SP) Tikam Singh Verma immediately visited the crime scene. He confirmed that the victim had sustained multiple injuries, including a deep gash across her throat, indicative of a sharp weapon.

SP Verma also indicated that the murder was “the result of a love affair, a marriage proposal and the dispute that arose from it,” further revealing that Kevin reportedly suspected Roshni of cheating on him.

Goa police launches probe

Following the discovery, investigators quickly launched a probe. According to reports a crucial lead emerged from a bus ticket found among Roshni’s belongings. The bus ticket revealed it had been booked by the accused Sanjay. The discovery of the ticket enabled police to trace Sanjay back to Karnataka. He was arrested in Hubli, Karnataka, within 24 hours of the crime’s discovery. The accused has since been brought to Goa for questioning.

According to the police, the couple had traveled to Goa on a state-run Kadamba Transport Corporation bus, with plans for a day trip. However, the reason is yet to be determined, over why they disembarked at a remote location. Roshni’s body was later found about 100 meters from the roadside in the forested area.

Further investigation into the precise motives and circumstances surrounding this tragic incident is currently underway.
