Saikia, in his statement to ANI, indicated that after the past three years of conducting the auctions in foreign venues such as Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, the BCCI aims to create a significant platform in Goa for this year’s auction. In a related development, the multi-day match between the India A Women’s cricket team and Australia A Women’s cricket team, originally set to take place in Dharamshala from September 29 to October 2, has been relocated to Mohali. This shift has been necessitated by ongoing rainfall that has adversely affected the outfield conditions at the Dharamshala venue.

The PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali will host the fixture, which also takes place during the ongoing three-match One-Day series between the two teams. This venue has been adapted swiftly to ensure that the series continues as planned, reflecting the BCCI’s commitment to maintaining the schedule despite weather-related challenges.

Saikia elaborated on the adjustment, stating that the decision was taken to facilitate uninterrupted cricketing activities. He noted that the persistent rain in Dharamshala made it unsuitable for hosting the matches there, and relocating to Mohali was deemed the most practical solution to continue with the series without further disruptions.
