Ambuja Cement Foundation bags two trophies at ICC Social Impact Awards 2021

Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) has been conferred with two awards by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). ACF Sankrail won an award in recognition for their concerted efforts in the ‘Gender Equality and Women Empowerment’ in the large industry category along with ACF Farakka that bagged an award in recognition of their efforts in the ‘Healthcare Sector’ in the small project category.
The 3rd edition of ICC Social Impact Awards 2021, an initiative of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, was recently held in Kolkata. The ICC Social Impact Awards recognize organisations for their exemplary work done in the field of social investment, CSR and sustainability on a pan-India basis. The Awards were presented by the Deputy Consul General of Australia, the Consul General of Japan and the British Deputy High Commissioner.

The ICC award recognitions are a testament to our dedication for holistic community development, especially in empowering the rural communities in areas like financial independence, resource management, skilling and healthcare,” said Pearl Tiwari, CEO – Ambuja Cement Foundation.
This is the third consecutive year that ACF has been recognised at the ICC Social Impact Awards. ACF Sankrail works on gender sensitization and women empowerment in 16 villages around the Ambuja Cement plant areas. Under the women empowerment programme, they focus on forming Self-Help Groups, promoting credit planning and integrating the program with other thrust areas like agriculture, water resource management, health and skill development.
ACF Farakka, is working in an area known for its poor healthcare system. The Foundation’s initiative around Maternal and Child Health is one of the biggest projects of its kind in the region. Currently, the programme focuses on family planning and strengthening the health of mothers significantly reduced neonatal deaths.
