The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Alia Bhatt wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday on Thursday and announced that she and her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, will support the #SevaSankalpAbhiyaan by pledging to refurbish 20 schools.

Alia was among several film personalities who shared birthday messages for the prime minister on social media. Her announcement came as the Bharatiya Janata Party prepared to launch the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Modi’s 25 years of public service.

Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor Pledge Support

Sharing her birthday message for Modi, Alia said the campaign’s focus on collective action and giving back represented a meaningful way to mark the occasion.

‘Happy Birthday to our Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji! Wishing you a healthy and fulfilling year ahead. The spirit of #SevaSankalpAbhiyaan reflects a wonderful vision of collective action and giving back. To mark this day and support the cause, Ranbir and I are pledging to refurbish 20 schools as per the recommendations of @mybmc, helping create brighter, better-equipped spaces for our children to learn and thrive.’

The pledge by Alia and Ranbir is aimed at supporting the refurbishment of 20 schools based on recommendations from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan Extend Birthday Wishes

Several other Bollywood personalities also shared messages for Modi on social media.

Salman Khan wrote on X, ‘Janam Din Mubarak Ho Honourable PM Sahab, Wish you a very Happy Birthday Narendra Bhai Modi. Jai Hind.’

Shah Rukh Khan also posted a birthday message on X, writing, ‘Here’s wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Honourable PM @narendramodi ji. To many more years of good health, happiness and fulfilment. May you always carry the strength and positivity to inspire the nation.’

Akshay Kumar Highlights Spirit Of Service

Actor Akshay Kumar linked Modi’s birthday celebrations to the theme of service and urged people to mark the occasion by helping others.

He wrote on X, ‘Today is the birthday of our esteemed Prime Minister ji, and this day is being celebrated with a resolve for service. I believe there cannot be a more beautiful way to celebrate a birthday than this.’

He added, ‘May we be of service to someone, help a needy person, bring a smile to someone’s face… just this simple resolve. Happy Birthday @narendramodi ji. Keep inspiring our great nation. Jai Bharat. Jai Mahakal.’

Kumar also shared the same message in Hindi, saying that the day was being observed through service and that helping someone in need or bringing a smile to another person’s face could itself be a meaningful resolve.

BJP To Mark 25 Years Of Modi’s Public Service

The celebrity birthday messages came as the BJP prepared to launch the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark 25 years of Modi’s public service.

Earlier, on September 9, BJP National President Nitin Nabin said at a press conference at the party headquarters that Modi would complete 25 years of public service on October 7.

Nabin said the party would organise a special month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to commemorate the milestone, with the campaign centred on service-oriented activities.

Modi’s birthday on September 17 and the upcoming 25-year milestone in public service have therefore become the focus of a series of public and social media initiatives, including the school refurbishment pledge announced by Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
