Modi recounted an early interaction dating back to 1981, when he was a young worker involved in organisational duties and received a handwritten letter from Singhal regarding an important programme.

Modi highlighted Singhal’s dedication to serving society, particularly his acute awareness of the needs of marginalised communities. He recalled the relentless efforts Singhal made to travel to the most remote regions, especially tribal areas in Gujarat, emphasising that he was often among the first to respond during natural disasters. Modi described an unforgettable experience following the devastating 2001 Kutch earthquake, illustrating Singhal’s commitment in times of crisis.

Furthermore, Modi attributed Singhal’s unyielding attitude and work ethic to his illustrious family background, noting that despite originating from a prosperous lineage, Singhal was driven by a desire to contribute to the revival of Indian heritage. He embraced various responsibilities within the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with enthusiasm and discipline.

PM Modi underscored Singhal’s crucial role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, particularly reminiscing about an impactful address he delivered in 1991 at the Boat Club Rally. He expressed that Singhal would have found immense joy witnessing this development, highlighting his unwavering dedication to the movement.

In addition, PM Modi acknowledged Singhal’s unwavering belief in social equality. He remarked on Singhal’s insistence that there should be no distinctions within society, using the laying of the first brick of the Ram Mandir by a grassroots Karyakarta as an example of his commitment to uplift marginalised individuals.
