Yogi Adityanath Highlights Development in Raebareli During Project Launch

The CSR Journal Magazine

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Raebareli, a constituency historically linked with the Congress, has undergone significant transformation under the governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This announcement was made during a ceremony commemorating the 222nd birth anniversary of the 1857 uprising figure, Rana Beni Madhav Baksh Singh, where he unveiled development initiatives amounting to over Rs 800 crore.

Adityanath remarked that Raebareli, once regarded as a “VIP” constituency, had previously suffered from chaos, poverty, and inadequate development. He emphasised that the ongoing advancements in the district are aimed at creating better prospects for the youth, enhancing the livelihoods of farmers, and supplying artisans and workers with more opportunities and respect.

Additionally, the Chief Minister critiqued the Congress party as well as the Samajwadi Party during his address, firmly asserting that Raebareli has undergone a notable change under the BJP’s rule.

Criticism of Past Governance

Raebareli has traditionally been a stronghold for the Congress, with former Congress president Sonia Gandhi representing the constituency in the Lok Sabha for several terms. Current MP Rahul Gandhi is also associated with the region. Adityanath took this opportunity to lampoon past Congress governments, referring to a well-known remark by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who claimed that only 15 paise of every rupee dispatched from the Centre reached the intended recipients. The Chief Minister alleged that the rest was misappropriated by supporters of the Congress and Samajwadi Party.

He asserted that it is the BJP governments that have enhanced the effectiveness of welfare schemes aimed at assisting the poor. He cited the modern coach factory in Raebareli as a case in point, illustrating the positive shift in the district’s industrial landscape. Established in 2012 under the Congress-led UPA government, the factory achieved a record production of 2,106 coaches during the fiscal year 2025-26, according to Adityanath.

Furthermore, he stated that for the first time, a complete Vande Bharat train was launched from the factory in May 2026, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Indian rail development. Adityanath added that Raebareli is now viewed with pride not just within Uttar Pradesh but also at the national level.

Vision for Future Development

The Chief Minister underscored the importance of continued development for generating jobs, improving farmers’ incomes, and supporting local artisans and labourers. He called on the citizens to actively participate in this developmental agenda and expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to drive improvement in the region.

In his speech, he advised the people against supporting factions that don’t prioritise Raebareli’s growth, stating, “You cannot bring development. You have no interest in the development of Raebareli.” He further pointed out that for an extended period, the Congress has dominated representation in Raebareli and Amethi but failed to celebrate the revolutionaries who contributed to India’s independence.

Adityanath urged the people to acknowledge that the former governments were primarily focused on familial interests, alleging that they neglected the broader community in exchange for personal gain. He stressed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP is witnessing substantial changes.

The Chief Minister concluded with a commitment to a zero-tolerance stance on crime, emphasising that anyone compromising public safety would face severe consequences. His remarks linked the developments in Raebareli, including industrial progress and the delivery of welfare schemes, directly to the accomplishments of BJP administrations while fiercely contesting the contributions of the Congress and Samajwadi Party.
