Karnataka Horror: Woman’s Severed Head and Dismembered Body Found Scattered Across 10 Locations

The CSR Journal Magazine

A chilling discovery in Kolala village of Tumakuru district has sent shockwaves through Koratagere taluk. Locals were horrified on August 7 when a stray dog was seen dragging a severed human hand near the Mutyalamma Temple in Chimpuganahalli. The gruesome find led to a major police investigation, revealing a horrifying murder.

As police searched the area, they uncovered dismembered body parts stuffed in plastic covers, scattered across ten different locations between Chimpuganahalli and Venkatapura villages along Siddarabetta Road. The remains included limbs, internal organs, and eventually, the victim’s severed head, discovered on Friday near Siddarabetta.

Statement of Police

The scattered nature of the body parts pointed to a planned effort to hinder identification and investigation. “We suspect the victim was killed elsewhere, chopped into small pieces, and the parts were dumped every half a mile by someone traveling in a car,” a senior police official said. Special teams have been deployed to search nearby villages and check CCTV footage. Two vehicles are under suspicion, but no arrests have been made so far.

The body parts were found in locations under both Koratagere and Kolala police jurisdictions. Investigators believe the remains were dumped on the night of August 6 or early hours of August 7.

Victim identified

The victim has been identified as Lakshmidevamma (42), a resident of Bellavi in Tumakuru taluk. She was reported missing on August 4 after she failed to return home from a visit to her daughter in Urdigere. Her husband had filed a missing person report. Police confirmed her identity based on tattoos and facial features.

Tumakuru SP Ashok K.V. is personally overseeing the case, with forensic teams working on evidence collection. The motive behind the brutal murder remains unknown.

The Shraddha Walkar case 2022

The case has drawn comparisons to the 2022 Shraddha Walkar case, where a woman was similarly murdered and dismembered in Delhi. The community remains in shock as police continue their hunt for the killer.
