I will realise the dreams of my father and work for ‘Bihar first, Bihari first’: Chirag Paswan to contest Bihar Elections

Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Sunday confirmed that he will contest the Bihar Assembly Elections, which is scheduled later this year. “I will contest the assembly polls in Bihar. I will contest not just in Bihar but for Bihar and its people. I am the son of Ram Vilas Paswan. I will realise the dreams of my father and work for ‘Bihar first, Bihari first’ to change Bihar,” Paswan told PTI.

This time Paswan is part of the NDA alliance and has already declared that Nitish Kumar will be the CM face.

The 42-year-old politician also announced the people of Bihar will decide from which seat he should contest the polls. Paswan who is the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Industries and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief, made the announcement while addressing a rally in Ara in Bhojpur district.

Paswan to contest Bihar Elections from unreserved constituency

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) contested 134 seats in the 2020 assembly polls, mostly against JD(U) candidates, but could failed to taste success in any seat.

“My alliance is only with the people of Bihar, I will contest all 243 seats to make the NDA stronger. I will live and die for Bihar and for the people of the state… for the pride of the state,” the party President said.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan had recently hinted that he would return to state politics. This sparked speculation about whether the BJP is planning to replace Nitish Kumar with Paswan as the next Chief Minister. What added fuel to the rumours was LJP’s decision to make Paswan contest from an unreserved seat.

However, the LJP President has clarified about his plans to contest the elections from an unreserved constituency saying it’s not because he dreams of becoming the CM of Bihar.

“Let me make one thing very clear. My contest will only ensure a better strike rate for my party, which would help the NDA,” he said.

Chirag Paswan’s jibe at Rahul Gandhi for blaming Election Commission

Reacting to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements on elections, Paswan said on Sunday that the Congress leader has already accepted defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections which is why he is making such statements.

Paswan further said that if Rahul Gandhi needs to find faults, he should search for that in his own party Congress.

“… The problem with Congress and its leaders is that when introspection is needed, they look for excuses for losing elections… If Rahul Gandhi needs to find faults in any institution, it should not be a constitutional institution, but his own Congress party… Blaming the Election Commission, accusing someone of fixing elections, saying that the EVM is faulty, all this shows that Rahul Gandhi has already accepted defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections… After Bihar, these people will lose states like Assam and Bengal,” Chirag Paswan told the media.
