In the election affidavit for the upcoming Tamil Nadu polls, actor-turned politician Vijay disclosed his financial details, including total assets and financial support to family and extended family. This financial affidavit has raised eyebrows amidst the ongoing divorce case. The matter of discussion has become the income of Vijay’s wife Sangeeth from fixed deposits. The documents disclose that a huge sum has been saved in her name across many bank accounts: Rs 25 crore in Indian Bank, Rs 40 crore in Axis Bank, and Rs 20 crore in HDFC Bank. It is estimated that a sum of Rs 49 lakh is generated monthly from these deposits. She even owns 391 pieces of gold jewelry.
Loans to Family and Close Aides Detailed in Affidavit
In the affidavit, another financial detail mentioned is the loan of Rs 12.60 crore to his estranged wife Sangeetha. Vijay’s father received Rs 3.02 crore, and his mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar received Rs 87.12 lakh. Vijay also gave money to his children, Sanjay Jason and Divya Saasha received Rs 8.78 lakh and Rs 4.6 lakh respectively. Apart from this Vijay supported people in the political circle, N. Anand lent Rs 3 crore from Vijay. As per the affidavit shared till date, the approximate value of Vijay’s movable assets is Rs 404.58 crore. Vijay’s immovable assets are valued at Rs 198.62 crore, including agricultural land, land in Kodaikanal, and many residential and commercial properties across Chennai.
