A medical team and staff were reportedly taken aback by the situation as Atul informed them that the snake in the bag was the creature responsible for his injury. The context led to a brief commotion inside the hospital as medical personnel reacted to the unexpected presence of the reptile.

Atul sustained a snake bite on his hand while attempting to remove the snake he discovered under a water motor. According to family reports, he had approached the water motor to switch it on when he encountered the snake lurking underneath, which subsequently bit him. Following the incident, Atul’s condition reportedly deteriorated, necessitating his family’s decision to transport him to the hospital for medical assistance.

The inclusion of the snake in the bag was intended to help the medical staff identify the species and ascertain the necessary treatment, which could include the administration of anti-snake venom if required. This incident is noteworthy, as it coincides with the reporting of several snakebite cases in Bareilly within a 24-hour timeframe, indicating a possible increase in snake encounters in the area.

Multiple Snakebite Cases Reported

In addition to Atul’s situation, other snakebite cases were reported in Bareilly, highlighting a concerning trend. One such case involved a 60-year-old woman named Bhagwan Dei, who was bitten on the hand while performing household chores at a dairy farm. Her son, Lakhan, recounted that Bhagwan Dei was in the process of removing cow dung cakes early in the morning when a hidden snake struck, resulting in her immediate deterioration and subsequent hospitalisation.

Another incident involved 35-year-old Satyavati, who suffered a snake bite while cleaning her home in the Sahukara locality. Family sources indicated that she encountered the snake unexpectedly while attending to her household duties. Her condition worsened post-bite, leading to medical intervention at Bareilly District Hospital.

The fourth snakebite case concerned a 20-year-old resident of Po Nagla village, Sonu, who was bitten on the leg while checking a paddy crop in the early morning. He recounted that he was on his way to work when the snake bit him suddenly. Similar to the others, Sonu also experienced a decline in his condition immediately following the incident, prompting his family to seek medical treatment.

All four individuals involved in the snakebite incidents are currently receiving treatment at Bareilly District Hospital. Medical staff are closely monitoring their conditions and providing the required interventions.
