Married Woman Burnt Alive by Stalker, Reaches Hospital On Her Scooter, Dies in UP

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a shocking incident a 33-year-old married woman, Nisha Singh, died after being set on fire. The woman was set on fire by a man and his associates in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district. The shocking incident occurred on August 6, when the woman was on her way to consult a doctor. The accused, identified as Deepak, had allegedly been harassing her for months, urging her to speak with him.

Harassment Turned Deadly

Nisha had gone to visit her father’s home and was on her way to a doctor’s appointment when Deepak confronted her. According to police, an argument broke out during which Deepak, along with a few others, doused her in a flammable substance and set her ablaze. The assailants fled the scene while Nisha, despite her injuries, managed to ride her scooter to a nearby clinic.

“I got a call from the doctor saying come quickly, your daughter is very badly burnt. When I reached, I saw that she was in a very bad condition. She was screaming, ‘Papa save me, papa save me’. The doctor referred her to Lohia. When I asked her how it happened, she said Deepak burnt her. He used to pressure her to talk to her, to meet her,” said Balram Singh, the victim’s father.

Last Words Reveal Identity of Attacker

At the clinic, the attending doctor immediately informed her father, Balram Singh. Upon arrival, he found his daughter in excruciating pain. According to him, Nisha cried out, “Papa, save me!” and named Deepak as the one who burned her. She was first taken to a local hospital, then referred to Lohia Hospital, and finally to Saifai hospital. Unfortunately, she died during the transfer.

Family Shocked, FIR Registered

Nisha’s sister, Neetu Singh, revealed that she knew about the ongoing harassment but Nisha had kept it hidden from their parents. Her husband, Amit Chauhan, said he had no idea about the ordeal, as she never shared her troubles, despite their regular conversations.

Neetu Singh, the victim’s sister, said she knew about the situation but they never informed the parents. “When we asked her, she said Deepak did it. He used to torture her. He used to pressure her to speak to her. She did not want to do this. She never told our mother. Only I knew,” said Neetu Singh.

“She never complained to me. The biggest problem is that she never complained. We spoke in the evening, and in the morning (hours before the incident) as well but she never mentioned it,” said Amit Chauhan, the victim’s husband.

Police Begin Search for Accused

Senior police officer Sanjay Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been lodged and four teams have been formed to arrest Deepak and his accomplices. Authorities are treating the case as a top priority.

“Balram Singh, the victim’s father, has complained that her 33-year-old married daughter was burnt alive by a person and his friends on August 6. She was admitted to a local hospital and then referred to Lohia Hospital. From there, she was referred to Saifai hospital but died on the way,” said Sanjay Kumar, a senior police official.
