Uttar Pradesh Government to Offer Rs 25,000 Support: CM Yogi Adityanath on International Women’s Day

On March 8, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a financial assistance package of Rs 25,000 for women in Uttar Pradesh, which will be extended to them from birth until graduation. This announcement was made during the International Women’s Day celebrations held in the state capital. Adityanath emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering women through this initiative, presenting cheques to beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana during the event.

Impact of the Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana

In his remarks, Adityanath highlighted that approximately 27 lakh girls in Uttar Pradesh are currently benefitting from the Kanya Sumangala Yojana. He stated that the scheme aims to ensure that daughters are not left dependent on others, promoting their financial independence and educational opportunities. The financial assistance is designed to support their journey from birth through to graduation, ensuring a more secure future for them.

On this occasion, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, conveyed his greetings to all women. Although not present at the event, Gandhi engaged with young female students in Kerala, describing the interaction as “extremely inspiring.” He noted that their confidence and ambitions underline the importance of women as a catalyst for change in society. Gandhi expressed his sentiments through a post on social media, reiterating the transformative potential of women in the nation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also marked International Women’s Day by extending greetings to the women of India.
