Trump Launches ‘OnlyFarms’ Website to Celebrate National Agriculture Day

The CSR Journal Magazine

On March 27, Donald Trump introduced a new website called “OnlyFarms” during a National Agriculture Day event at the White House. This initiative aims to highlight the benefits U.S. farmers have gained from the Trump administration’s policies. The launch is part of a broader effort to support the agricultural sector, which is currently facing challenges such as rising costs and geopolitical tensions, particularly due to tariffs and the conflict with Iran.

Attention-Grabbing Platform Within White House

The “OnlyFarms” platform, accessible through the OnlyFarms.gov address, is hosted within the White House website. It features an interactive map and a downloadable fact sheet that provide insights into how farmers across various states are benefiting from current policies. The White House promoted the launch with a statement asking if people were curious about the financial savings American farmers are experiencing. According to the site, the Trump administration has provided over $40 billion in direct assistance to farmers and ranchers, aimed at helping them recover from unfair foreign trade practices.

The website’s unveiling coincided with a gathering at the South Lawn, where Trump addressed approximately 800 farmers and ranchers. This event was described as the largest assembly of U.S. farmers at the White House in history. Trump expressed his admiration for the farming community, stating, “You’re very, very special people” and underscoring their resilience in any weather conditions. He also referenced the support he received from farmers in previous elections, vowing to remember them.

Showcase of Agricultural Equipment

The event featured a display of agricultural machinery, including a gold-painted Fendt 1167 Vario tractor provided by AGCO Corporation. Trump commented on the beauty of the equipment, expressing enthusiasm for the gold tractor, which he linked to his administration. This showcase was designed to emphasize the importance of modern agricultural technology in supporting the sector.

During the event, the administration detailed several new policy measures aimed at alleviating financial strains on farmers. These include an increase in Small Business Administration loan guarantees for agricultural enterprises, raising coverage from 75% to 90% for lenders. Trump also announced updated guidance from the Environmental Protection Agency concerning diesel emissions, believed to save billions in operational costs. He recalled previous financial support, adding, “I just gave you $12 billion” in December, and questioned whether his successor would have made similar decisions.

Challenges Facing the Agricultural Sector

The announcements come at a time when U.S. farmers confront considerable challenges, including soaring fuel and fertiliser prices. Many of these increases have been attributed to Trump’s tariff policies and the ongoing conflict in Iran, which has disrupted oil and natural gas supplies, essential for fertiliser production. The economic pressures have compounded existing challenges within farming communities, prompting concerns from industry groups regarding the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Throughout the gathering, Trump positioned his administration as a staunch supporter of American farmers while criticizing environmentalists regarding regulatory changes.
