Truck Tyre Burst Sparks Explosion at Hingonia Toll Plaza; Toll Worker Escapes Narrowly

The CSR Journal Magazine

A truck tyre burst at Jaipur’s Hingonia toll plaza on Saturday, causing a powerful blast that shattered the glass window of toll booth number 6. Fortunately, the toll booth worker inside escaped without injury despite glass shards falling on him.

CCTV footage from the plaza captures the moment the toll worker, dressed in a blue t-shirt, was seated and working on a computer when the tyre suddenly exploded. The blast was strong enough to break the booth’s glass window and damage the computer equipment. The loud noise caused alarm among nearby motorists and workers.

Incident Sparks Concerns

This incident has raised concerns about vehicle safety and the toll plaza’s protective infrastructure.

Earlier this week, tragedy struck near the same toll plaza when two men, Luv Kumar Meena (40) and Ashok Kumar Meena (22), died in a collision with a gravel mixer truck under a railway overbridge. According to police reports, Ashok Kumar, a cab driver, was transporting Luv Kumar to their village when the accident happened. Both were rushed to SMS Hospital’s trauma center but could not be saved.

Jaipur Bus Crash Kills 8 After Tyre Blowout

In a separate incident earlier this year, eight people lost their lives in Jaipur’s Dudu district when a Rajasthan Roadways bus lost control after a tyre burst and collided with a passing van. Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Khandelwal stated that the victims were traveling to attend the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

While no injuries were reported in Saturday’s tyre explosion, the event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and improved safety measures at toll plazas.
